Greek dancing in London
      #1127 - Mon Jun 25 2001 03:50 PM

Hi everybody, I'm an Anglo Cypriot, or as they like to call us in Cyprus, I'm a Charlie . I'm 30 years old, and interested in learning to do Greek dancing.

I had lessons when I was about 11 or 12 years old, but as you can imagine, I can't remember anything. Can anyone suggest a place in preferably North London where I could learn?

Thanks in Advance
George

Hi George,

I have been greek dancing almost my entire life. I am from the USA, a little far away. But what I suggest is that you start with the Greek Orthodox Churches there, they should have programs. Look in the greek community for people who come from Greece, they are sometimes the best teachers because what they teach you has been passed to down to them. Good Luck.

Dear George,

Try the Lyra Dancing School for Greek Folk Dance. You should speak to Loulou Kailis, avery lovely lady there.

They have a web site....point your search engine to LYRA DANCERS.
