Hellenic Lions Club of Brisbane - Fundraising Dinner and Dance
A fun night of live music and entertainment! Be immersed in the culture of Greek music and listen to the sounds of jazz as you enjoy a three-course meal and fine wines.

There will be raffles and live and silent auctions during the evening, and the chance to go home with some fantastic prizes. All proceeds raised will benefit the Mater Prostate Cancer Research Centre and the ESTIA Disability Group of Queensland.

Paniyiri 2006 - Brisbane

It's almost time to Go Greek for 2006.
The famous PANIYIRI Festival, the signature celebration of all things Greek, will bring the tastes, sounds, dance, atmosphere, laughter and flavours of Greece to Brisbane from Monday May 15, through to the major weekend celebration on Saturday and Sunday, May 20 and 21, 2006. Paniyiri is a community initiative of the 25,000-strong Greek community of South East Queensland but also the general community in a celebration in fun, food and friendship.

Paniyiri this year will welcome a number of new feature events and faces. These new initiatives join the packed Paniyiri program of cooking classes, church tours, embroidery demonstrations, live entertainment, public lectures by Professor Bob Milne, photography and art exhibitions, musical theatre and recitals, exhibitions, a Greek Dance Party (Trella) and a Tavli (Backgammon) Tournament.

A favourite of Paniyiri each year are the fantastic food stalls, which showcase the tastes, recipes and secrets of food from all regions of Greece. This year is no different with 30 food stalls representing the Aegean, Ionian, Pelopponnesian Island, Mainland Greece, Cyprus, Chios, Crete, Rhodes regions and many more.

- Effie will be back for 'Greek Dancing with the Stars' on Saturday night.
- Kapa Bros will be back for some Greek lovin' on Saturday and Sunday.
- Will have another attempt at breaking our own record for the 'Zorbathon' on Saturday night.
