Anongirl, you seem to have missed my point entirely! I never said he should have been "profiled" as that term is an extremely offensive racist term. "Profiling" means to label a person due to what he looks like physically! What I meant is an actual criminal interpol record, which is totally different than a racist profiling thing. I am vehemently opposed to profiling! It serves no purpose whatsoever and does not make us feel safe in the least! In fact, it promotes hatred. I work in the legal profession and I know something about international law. Interpol is the International Police Agency that looks out for criminals and "would-be criminals" regardless of race, colour, creed, sex, etc. This defrocked irish priest should have a criminal record for disturbing the Grand Prix in England and thereby it is entered into a databank of known "psychos" or world event violators. When you enter into a country, the bar code on the passports that get swiped at the customs desk gives the customs officer your criminal record and/or any relevant history. This crazy nut has now been charged and found guilty by the Greek government of disrupting the race and therefore he is now into the criminal databank of known international criminals, (to make it clearer, he purposely travelled to another country to commit a crime). If he tries it again now that there is such a record, the customs officers will not, in their right minds, let him into their country. What I meant to say originally is, that had the British done their jobs properly in the first place, perhaps, just perhaps, this foul would not have had to cost de Lima his Gold Medal and cast a shadow over the Italian runner's worthiness to deserve the Gold. |
