Hey Non, we're all proud to be Greek and we all love Greece. No arguement there. But you seem to measure your pride by what some ignorant, biased, nisinformed, uninformed reporter writes about Greece. Well, I've gone beyong that and my pride is based on the achievements of this little country and its people, and I don't mean its ancient history but the recent past and the present. If you scratch beneath the ouzo, mousaka, Mykonos and Santorini of today you'll discover a land of trailblazers in art, culture, science and more. This is somehting to be extremely rpoud of. Also if you believe that the Olympic Movement a sit exists today is about peace and love etc then you live in Michael Jackson's LaLa Land. The true Olympic movement has been hijacked by comercialism and exploitation. The real contribution of Athens to this movement is that it is the only Olympic city that offered some kind of resistance to this hijacking of this noble event. The booing and hissing at the gymnastics venue and the 200m event was an expression of this resistance. And that is something to be proud of. |
