A strong earthquake jolted western Greece on Sunday, killing at least four (4) people

The earthquake that rocked Andravida, southern Greece, on Sunday left dozens injured and extensive damage in its wake. The village of Valmi has been flattened. Aftershocks will keep jolting the area for quite some time, said the head of the Greek Institute of Geodynamics Giorgos Stavrakakis, who suggested calm. As he said, the strongest aftershock so far occurred during the night and was measured 4.6 on the Richter scale. The aid to be offered to the quake victims of the Peloponnese will be direct and free of red tape, while the houses that collapsed will be immediately restored, promised Interior Minister Prokopis Pavlopoulos, who is chairing a meeting of the relevant bodies in Andravida.
