"The Abduction of the Gorgeous… Hen!" November 19 to December 18, 2005 The Theater Group of the Greek Cultural Center presents a play different from the rest. A show for children and for those who are young at heart. A production that should not be missed. "The Abduction of the Gorgeous… Hen!" Eleftheria lives with her beloved pets, her dog and cat, at her stern aunt’s house. Her father, who constantly travels, brings her the gift of a lovely hen from his most recent trip. Eleftheria, who “always wanted a gorgeous hen", is ecstatic! Her aunt however abhors animals and dreams of the hen... oven roasted with a side of potatoes. She therefore gives her niece an ultimatum, saying that "if it does not lay an egg within 20 hours, I will slaughter it! That is what will happen!" This program is made possible in part with public funds from the New York State Council of the Arts (NYSCA), a state agency/SAS program and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) Eleftheria conjures up an ambitious plan to save her beloved hen from certain roasting. Will her plan work?
