Well, they did win the bronze medal over Lithuania, a 3rd place finish is not bad at all in my opinion, you don't need to win gold everytime to be considered a "dream" team/athlete in my eyes. As for the team comments, I think they may think feel/differently now of Greece after living there for 2 weeks. NBC did a very touching story last evening on 3 athletes who most likely the world will never know about, a 29 year old female gymnast (from the former Russia I believe) still in the sport competing for her son who has leukemia to make ends meet for his treatments, most likely these were her last Olympics. A 15 year old Pakistinian swimmer the youngest athlete in Athens, competing for her country while most of them don't condone or support her due to their religious Muslim beliefs but she still is going after her dream An Argentinean basketball player who lost his mother fiance and sister in a tragic car accident little over a year ago and then loosing his father but yet was in Athens competing for his country. All Olympians who had the courage to go on and compete for their country despite their personal problems back home are winners no matter what they won or didn't. |

For spoiled rich millionaires who think themselves better than every other athlete in the olympic village - they sure as hell should have done a lot better than Bronze. They barely beat the other teams to take 3rd place and that speaks volumes. It must have been all that partying in the Queen Mary II where they were partying and rubbing shoulders with the rich elite as poor ordinary "little people" are not good enough for these guys. Give me a friggin break - I am surprised that they knew how to even tie the shoe laces. As for doping, I am sure that if they give them the "hair folicle test" which is a test to see if they have smoked marijuana in the past 6 months, I am sure that every single one of them will fail that test! BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!!!! Let's talk of more worthy athletes like the marathoner de Lima and not these losers! These losers had never during the course of the olympics ever displayed good sports-man like conduct that even remotely resembles that of de Lima! Put that in your roach-clip or crack pipe and smoke it! |

I'm not condoning athletes taking drugs but the fact is the ones who did use were smart enough not to use right before the Olympics like Kenteris did and it's so silly to even blame the U.S for Kenteris situation no matter who or what athletes used,Bush didn't open Kenteris mouth and shove drugs into him ,Kenteris is a grown MAN who should have known better , his coach is not a nice man . |
