"The Trial" is a two-act contemporary drama written by community playwright Kosta Efkarpidis, and directed by Olga George. The setting is a small church on top of a mountain, miles a way from civilization. The church is dedicated to the prophet Elias. Two individuals are waiting for someone that calls himself "Prometheus", the person who set up the meeting. Prometheus, however, is very late and while waiting, the two friends start wondering about the purpose of the meeting. Who is Prometheus? What does he know about them that is so important that requires a meeting in an isolated place such this? And the mystery begins…..
Cast in alphabetical order includes: Peter A. Bournias, Konstantinos Deligiannis, Diodoros Pagoudis, Konstantinos Spanos. Maria Carras Gouveris is the light designer, Ekavi Valeras is the set and costumes designer, and director Olga George did the music selection.
Director Olga George was born in Athens. She studied classical and modern dance in the American College of Greece, Movement and Mime at the theatre workshop of Monika Pagneux and Philippe Gaulier in Paris, and acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. She collaborated with the Greek Cultural Center to direct the play The Winner by Stella Litzeri-Meli in 2002, Who Discovered America, by Chris Spilioti in 2003 and The Trial by Kostas Efkarpidis in 2004. She is the production consultant of the Fresh Squeezed Juice Theatre Company and the founder and the artistic director of Solaris Productions. She received a Fulbright Scholarship and an American Academy of Dramatic Arts Scholarship. She is a member of the International Theatre Institute
