Giorgos, well said, man! We sure proved them wrong. It is not just ABC that we should buoycott but NBC as well. Did you see the deplorable coverage of the Olympics? Did you see the horrible set? Did you see how quick they were to misjudge Greece and to think up ways of discrediting the games? The Canadian CBC coverage of the Games was far more superior to that of NBC, even the Canadian set was beautifully done, and the spirit that the Canadian broadcasters portrayed was one of admiration, respect and general awe of the Games and how well they were organized. CBC had nothing but positive things to say, whereas NBC was constantly making mountains out of mole hills of the fact that no one was in the stands, that the security was lax, etc., etc., etc. CBC on the other hand kept showing historical pieces about the ancient olympic games, how Athens has developed over the years, and how much the people from CBC were enjoying the sights, smells and sounds that Athens had to offer. They had little shows entitled "It's All Greek to Me" with a Greek journalist visiting every part of Greece and displaying the culture and sights of places such as Santorini, Carpathos and Rhodes. CBC just couldn't get enough of Greece, whereas NBC in contrast had the ugliest stage that I have seen in the history of NBC's coverage of ANY Olympic games - they actually conducted interviews against the backdrop of a brick wall! With all the beautiful marbles of the Parthenon, with all the beautiful scenery of the Olympic village itself and main stadium, they actually conducted their show amidst a backdrop of a brick wall! I mean, people, come on, can't you at least try a little? Like, do they have to make it any more obvious of how jealous they are of Greece and all it's splendor? With all the beauty that is Greece, they could not even bring themselves to show even one quarter of it to the American viewing public. All they kept showing was the American athletes winning all the medals. They couldn't be bothered with the host country, except when it came to criticizing it. And not to mention the deplorable coverage of the closing ceremonies. CBC showed it in its entirety with no commercial interruptions whatsoever whereas NBC just covered the commercials with a bit of the closing ceremonies thrown in. NBC's coverage was the worse that I have ever seen of any Olympic Games coverage! It was a disgrace!

I guess it must be because of what you originally posted in 2001, Giorgos. It must be that all American networks are incredibly stupid and like to spread stupidity and lies. By the way, do you know who controls ABC and NBC for that matter? Take a look behind Peter Jennings and you might get a glimps of the real malcontents and liars behind it all. Won't that be a surprise?

I joined Omogenia after the Olympics so it took me a while to read what you posted on ABC but I felt the need to post and tell you WELL DONE!!!! They had forgotten about Atlanta's explosions and they would open their big mouth and make Greece sound bad with every chance they had! At least Germany didn't say anything because they haven't forgotten what happened in Munich! That's what ABC should have done as well! For once more... BRAVO!!!
