The Greek Glenti Festival is an initiative of the Greek Orthodox Community of Northern Australia Inc. that began as the Greek Community's contribution to the Australian Bicentenary celebrations in 1988.
The Greek Glenti Festival is held annually on the Queen's Birthday long weekend, and is held on the Sunday of the long weekend from 11.00am through to approximately 1.00am.
Darwin's Greek Glenti Festival is provided to the community 'Free of Entry Charge' , with the only costs being for food and drink, therefore it can be affordable to any budget.
Participants in the Greek Glenti Festival are Greek Community organisations and clubs and members of the wider community. The Greek Community organizations include, but are not limited to:
* Greek Orthodox Community
* Greek School of Darwin
* Parents and Guardians of the Greek School
* Cypriot Community
* Hellenic Macedonian Association
* Kalymnian Brotherhood
* Hellenic Athletic Club
* Olympic Soccer Club
