ATHENS, Greece -- You'd think Tom Hanks would have had enough of isolated islands, but "Cast Away" star is spending his summer holiday with his family on a small Aegean Sea island reachable only by a slow ferry.
Hanks, his wife, Rita Wilson, and children have settled in on Antiparos, about 240 miles southeast of Athens and just across from the more cosmopolitan Paros in the Cyclades. The couple arrived on a yacht that press reports said belongs to a Greek shipping tycoon.
The island of 800 is apparently expecting other celebrity guests. The Greek press is full of speculation that stars such as Harrison Ford, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston could also come ashore.
Hollywood stars often pick hard-to-reach Greek islands to thwart paparazzi.
In the 2000 movie "Cast Away," Hanks' character is stranded on a remote island for four years.
