Yes, Pan I do and so would everyone agree, I am sure. But we won't accomplish anything unless we have specific goals with clear agendas. Do you understand what I mean? Promoting education, economies, and personal relations are good general values to pursue, and these values traditionally come natural to hellenic people, and we are already pursuing them, but I think we need something more concrete, something more specific to strive for.

I have some thoughts on this subject as follows. Diaspora greeks in the US tend to unite under one specific goal and this usually has to do with orthodox christianity. Typically the goal is the finanancing and construction of churches and meeting halls. This one goal is so all-consuming that it has led to the exclusion of everything else. While we chase after cash to finance bricks and mortar, our children know very little of their greek heritage outside of orthodox christianity. It's really sad. Ask a typical greek-american to name three signigicant contributions of Aristotle and you will get a blank stare. One of the greatest minds of all times, and probably the greatest greek ever to have lived and his legacy is unkown to people who call themselves greek!! I can't speak for greeks in greece. Are they that ignorant as well?
Classics education has taken a beating in America, and perhaps worldwide. Could it be a reasonable goal for greeks all over the world to pass on our hellenic heritage and help carry the torch of the greatest civilization ever known to man? It may not line anyone's pockets with money, but it is a worthy cause, nontheless. Just my humble opionion. I hope I didn't bore anyone.
