Technology & Investment Symposium seeks entrepreneurs, investors, scientists; will showcase Hellas and its potential
CHICAGO, July 24 -- The second Symposium designed to provide Diaspora support for the development of high technology in Hellas and for the economic advancement of the country was announced by Andrew A. Athens, World SAE President and National Chairman of the United Hellenic American Congress. World SAE and UHAC are the sponsoring organizations.
The Symposium, titled Technology & Investment in Hellas, the Economic Engine of Southeast Europe and Gateway to the Balkans and EU will be held in Chicago September 29 and 30 at the Drake Hotel, 140 East Walton and Michigan Ave.
The tremendous interest of the Omogeneia in the first Symposium with Hellene scientists, and the successful completion of our goals in June give us great encouragement as we plan the second Symposium which will focus on high technology investments in Hellas Mr. Athens said.
This Symposium will bring together investors, venture capitalists and entrepreneurs with technology scientists and give them all an understanding why it would be beneficial to establish technology companies in Hellas.
Minister of Development Dimitris Sioufas will be the keynote speaker and presenters are expected to include Deputy Minister of Economy Christos Folias and representatives of the Hellenic Center for Investments (ELKE). One-on-one meetings will be pre-arranged for Symposium participants from Hellas with U.S. high technology companies and potential investors.

Συμπόσιο για την Τεχνολογία & τις Επενδύσεις θα προβάλλει τις προοπτικές της Ελλάδας
ΣΙΚΑΓΟ 24 Ιουλίου 2005 -- Το δεύτερο Συμπόσιο για την ανάπτυξη υψηλής τεχνολογίας στην Ελλάδα και την περαιτέρω οικονομική της άνθιση, ανακοίνωσε ο Πρόεδρος του ΣΑΕ και Εθνικός Πρόεδρος του Ενωμένου Ελληνοαμερικανικού Κογκρέσου, κ. Ανδρέας Α. Άθενς.
Το Συμπόσιο με τίτλο «Τεχνολογία & Επενδύσεις στην Ελλάδα, το οικονομικό κέντρο της Νοτιοανατολικής Ευρώπης και πύλη προς τα Βαλκάνια και την ΕΕ», θα πραγματοποιηθεί στο Σικάγο στις 29 & 30 Σεπτεμβρίου 2005.
«Το τεράστιο ενδιαφέρον της Ομογένειας για το πρώτο Συμπόσιο για τους Έλληνες επιστήμονες, αλλά και η ολοκλήρωση των στόχων μας μέσα στον Ιούνιο μας ενθαρρύνουν να οργανώσουμε και ένα δεύτερο συμπόσιο αφιερωμένο στις επενδύσεις υψηλής τεχνολογίας στην Ελλάδα», ανέφερε ο κ. Άθενς.
Το Συμπόσιο θα συγκεντρώσει επενδυτές, επιχειρηματίες και επιστήμονες και θα προσπαθήσει να προβάλει τους λόγους για τους οποίους η δημιουργία εταιρειών υψηλής τεχνολογίας στην Ελλάδα είναι συμφέρουσα.
Κεντρικός ομιλητής του Συμποσίου θα είναι ο Υπουργός Ανάπτυξης, κ. Δημήτρης Σιούφας, ενώ ανάμεσα στους προσκεκλημένους θα είναι και ο Υφυπουργός Οικονομικών, κ. Χρήστος Φώλιας και εκπρόσωποι του Ελληνικού Κέντρου Επενδύσεων (ΕΛΚΕ). Στο πλαίσιο του Συμποσίου θα πραγματοποιηθούν συναντήσεις ανάμεσα σε συμμετέχοντες από την Ελλάδα και Αμερικανικές Εταιρείες υψηλής τεχνολογίας και πιθανούς επενδυτές.
