Peter Karmanos Jr.
If you’ve met Peter Karmanos, Jr., you’ve met passion personified. As Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Compuware, Pete uses that passion every day to ensure that the company delivers value to its customers. How? Simple–through the hottest distributed products in the market, through outstanding professional services and through the most-respected mainframe software in the world, Compuware helps make its customers more productive.

ALEX G. SPANOS
Owner
In his early years, Alex Spanos worked night and day, seven days a week in his father's bakery. His growing family was struggling to make ends meet on $40 a week. In 1951, at the age of 27, the time came for Spanos to make the toughest business decision of his life - to stay in the family business or strike out on his own.

More than 50 years later, Spanos has transformed an $800 loan into one of the leading real estate and development companies in the building industry. He is the founder and chairman of A.G. Spanos Companies, the nation's largest family-owned construction company, and his commitment to quality and integrity are imprinted in the daily operation and management of the San Diego Chargers as well as the 10 companies that are wholly owned and managed by the Spanos family. more...

The first recorded Greek to arrive (in 1528), WOW! in what is now Florida, was a sailor on the ship of the Spanish explorer Panfilio de Nerves. Later, in 1763, a large migration of Greeks left to establish plantations in St. Augustine, Florida. This was reported to be the largest group of white inhabitants in America at that time (Moskos, 1989). Prior to 1890, there were very few Greek immigrants to the United States. They chose the neighboring countries of the Balkans, Egypt, and Russia as there were established Greek communities already thriving in these locales. There were, however, a few Greeks that had managed to cross the ocean. (Monos, 1988). more....
