Your complaints are one sided... is there not a legacy of invention?....let's see...the airplane, the automobile, the telephone, practically every machine in the industrial revolution, steel,skyscrapers, television,space exploration, medical and scientific discoveries, political freedoms and ideals, THE CONSTITUTION, not to mention the internet and the computer.(which you most surely use.)++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++many many more.
Ok let's not forget WWI, WWII, The CIVIL WAR (You guess the importance if you know American history)
And please do not blame Ecological concerns on just one country, they are all guilty.
