FYROM says it will bend as far as necessary in its protracted “name dispute” with Greece in return for a Nato membership invitation at the alliance’s Bucharest summit at the beginning of next month. Matthew Nimitz, the United Nations mediator, holds last-ditch talks with the two sides in Vienna on Monday in search of a name for the former Yugoslav republic, whose current name the Greeks say implies territorial aspirations on their own northern province, also called Macedonia.
