What else can I say about this poem? It is EXCELLENT! But, like others, I regret too, that people who create something, represent with pride the Greek Heritage, and or stand out in the community they do not obtain the proper admiration or acknowledgment. Through my experiences and observations, I may add that this only happens to the Greek Community at Large. For some unknown reasons, we as Greeks fail to recognize our OWN KIND. Sometimes, I have a hard time to comprehend this. Though we re known as warm people, we do not demonstrate it. On the contrary, I don't want to be misunderstood, there are plenty, plenty, plenty Good Greeks at Large, who will support you, guide you, and lead you to the right path.
In regards to poetry, though, I am not a POET it has been a pleasure to share with the Greek Community at Large my personal feelings for the past 8-10 years. To this date, I can count on my fingers one, two, three, four or five people, who have been sincere and encouraged me in this foreign land to be who I am, and what I want to be. This includes Lenio and Vaios Fasoulas, who though busy, when I called, they always took my call. You see, I don't leave in Greece, neither in New York, or Sidney, or London, Paris, or Rome, but in a small Village in California, as so many other Greeks, are scattered through out . But who cares? Do you think we are accounted for? Or, do you think when someone writes something good, or generates something good, someone will say, hey, who's that guy over there? Hell NO!
I say all this for one reason. Lets embrace all Greeks at Large, especially the ones who contribute and benefitthe Greek Community at Large. Here in California, with al the respect, I DRY OUT WOLF, feel like an ORPHAN!
So much for that!
