Director Elia Kazan, whose triumphs
included the original Broadway productions of "Death of a Salesman" and "A
Streetcar Named Desire," and the Academy Award-winning film "On the
Waterfront," died Sunday. He was 94.
Elia Kazan -( Elia Kazanjoglou )was
born in Constantinople (now Istanbul) of Greek parentage. In 1913, at the
age of four, his family emigrated to the US and settled in New York City,
where his father became a rug merchant. |
